Friends?

Ever feel like you were a kids again? I do especially when I am sick, I wish my mom would put me in her bed and turn on Nikolodeon and give me sprite and crackers. Now I just have to hobble around trying to find something in my own pantry that won't make me gag my guts out. But alas I am not writing this because I am sick, because at this moment I am not sick. I am writing this cause I wish that I was 7 again and could feel comfortable calling any girl in my class or neighborhood and asking them if they wanted to play today. But again I am not 7, I am almost 27, and I don't have anyone to call up and ask if they want to play.
How do you make friends as an adult and the new kid in town. Yes, yes, my fellows bloggers will comment and tell me they are my friend, and I guess I have "facebook" friends, whatever that means, and at work I have friends, but to go have a girls night every once in a while, how do you make those friends? Any suggestions?
Being an adult is overrated! Highly overrated.

Am I lame or what?

I have done it. I have shamed myself and fallen into peer pressure. I read all 4 of the Twilight books. I know, I know, I tried to stay away, I bought the books way back in August and let them collect microscopic dust mites for a few months until that fateful day where my library books were due and the closet my town calls a library didn't have anything that would hold to my hearts content, and that is when I opened the black book. I am in no way a vampire or werewolf kind of person, nor am I into lovey dovey I love you more, no I love you more love kind of person but I did want to see what all the fuss was about. It's ok, but I don't think I will go out and buy the perfume, or where a wedding dress to Barnes and Noble the day when Edward comes out with his book, but I think I will go see the movie. But those who were totally engrossed into the books though, more power to ya!

But what I am most excited about is reading this book. Eeeeck, I can not wait to lift the cover of Confessions of a Shopaholic and laugh my little head off as my eyes graze the words of this book, and then be the first in line to the theater to see Isle Fisher, cute as a button she is, star in the Movie. I can not wait!

And then I guess since I am not going to school this semester like I hoped I would I will read a book that Bill was reading for one of his classes last semester that i spied with my little eye. Maybe I will be able to gain a few smart cells in that brain of mine as well! Maybe not, but I could pretend.

Ok little tikes, I am sitting here with foil on my head and I can hear the crack, snackle, and pop of the bleach busting through my hair strands only to keep me young, hot and blond, well at least the blond part is true. Time for a rinse and maybe a repeat before I jump in to my fresh and comfy bed that now smells of fabric softener and dryer sheets that somehow mimic a green field full of fresh bloomed lilies and steams of sunbursts dancing through the almost cloudless sky. I know my dreams will be full of Bill and I holding hand in hand and skipping through the grass in our whitest of polo shirts and preppiest khaki pants, laughing the whole way. Oh, our little golden lab prancing just a few feet ahead of us chasing the blue fluttering butterfly. Thank goodness for marketing right, gets even the best of us during an economic crunch. Next time I may fall for that fuzzy brown teddy bear that seems lovable enough to wash my 700 count Nordstrom rack sheets in.

San Fran Part dose

So first I will tell you about our Christmas really quick. I had dinner for 10 peeps, I was all stressed about it all month and the day finally came. Luckily I am not as dumb as I look and a lot of it could be made the night before. So with the help of my sis-in-law and mi madre everything turned out fine except for the funeral potatoes that decided they wanted to stay cold. After all was said and done though, I realized how much I took for granted when my mom, aunts and Gma did it, and I don't want to do it ever again! Thee end!

Christmas morning we woke up to my cute nephew's and niece's excitement that Santa had come, ate most the cookies and just two bites of the carrots they left him. I don't think Santa is into carrots, or else the carrots were expired, either way, the cookies seemed to be a big hit with the jolly old man. They were happy as clams to discover this though.

I realized that I am becoming an old woman. We got a warming electric blanket for our bed, and even though I got some yummy perfume and sparkling bling, my favorite gift was the practical utility bill money saver, the blanket. Bill and I also got almost matching personal blankets, since mine seem to own feet and end up with Bill. He loves his own now and I can cuddle with mine by myself, finally since the feet have been amputated from the blanket.

OK, so back to New years, the last day we went to Alcatraz and when we got off the boat immediately we thought of you Clint. This sign was right in our face bringing back sweet memories of you!

The cells are 3 stories high and itty bitty. They could have been smaller as far as I am concerned since I am not a big fan of criminals and think they deserve much worse than they get.

Here is a cell, Bill was grossed out that the toilet is so close to the bed and hopes he never has to go to prison. I hope he never has to either!

Big white building on the right is prison, not sure about the one on the left, the automated tour was so long we turned it off and left.

I guess this is what Bill would look like if he did go to prison though, although he may have more of a disgusted look on his face with the whole toilet situation.

This is Bert. He cawed at me when I walked past then turned his head when I looked at him and acted like he didn't. Sneaky little guy.

So yeah, there you go, Alcatraz, doesn't seem like a fun place to live.

So here is a little story. We and by we I mean Bill drove around the city and I just rode and the hills there are ridiculously steep, I mean ridiculous. So we were going down this one hill, and at the stop sign the intersection flattens out, we couldn't see the next hill until our noses got to the edge of it, once we got to the edge Bill turned because we were scared our car would end up rolling nose over butt all the way down. It was scary steep. These San Frans better be mighty happy it doesn't snow here, and if it does they better stay toasty warm in the apt until all is melted. I could imagine some crazy accidents happening around here.

It is a fun town, go visit sometime.

My dedication to Kaylynn, Karlee and Jessica

Thanks for the hate mail ladies. Surprisingly you three actually blog way less than I. But yet I get the slack when I take a little computer vacay. I guess I deserve it though since I am sure I have told all of you to make a new freakin post on your blogity blog too! At least I know somebody is reading this, so I guess you have given me a blog-esteem boost. But you know, I don't think I am going to post all our pics just yet, nope, I don't think I will tell you about Christmas either. I am a brat and I am going to take full advantage of that now, and you my dear friends will just have to keep driving by for what is to come next, so ha!

So on to our trip to SF, CA. New Years was a grand ol' time. That day we went to lunch and shopped then dinner and then back to our little hotel room. Bill passed out around 8:30 and I watched the ball drop NYC time and then fell asleep watching the Wedding Date. We are big time party animals, wooo wooo!

New Years day went to Napa Valley, the closest thing I have ever come to Tuscany (I guess) It was so beautiful though. All the wine vineyards are just like you see in the pics and the little sometimes big houses are flippin adorable.

We toured a winery in a castle. You see we could have gone to another quaint little joint, but figured the castle had to be the one cause that is how we roll.
This is our new buddy Paco. Totally looks like a Paco too don't you think.
And of course, here are all of Paco's cousins just chillin at the castle.
Just your average scenery in the Valley. it's not like it is picture perfect everywhere there, just 99% of it is.

So ok, I learned a little bit about wine while we were there, and since I knew slim to none before I got a pretty good education if I do say so myself. So these big silver cylinder thingys (I said pretty good education, cylinder thingys is not the technical term) is where the de-seed and de-stem the grapes, then they get to ferment (I think)K so I know this is blurry but stay with me. These others we will call them silver cylinder thingys number dose, these are where the grapes separate the good from the evil, the juice separates from the grape, the inside separates from the peel and once fermented even more someone comes along and stirs it all together again. Now if I have anything about this wrong just keep your cute little mouths shut, cause I am feeling quite confidant that I have it right. And since I have had my blogging-esteem back up again there is no reason to tear me down peeps.
So then the wine gets poured into these barrels and "aged" for 2-3 years.
So let me just tell you about this storage, It is the biggest basement I have ever laid my baby blues upon, since it is a castle and all, and the thing is filled to the brim with full wine barrels. Now if you think about how many people will consume that much wine...that is a lot of merry folks running around.

So then it gets bottled and sold, and yes, those bottles are full. All of them. There are even more not pictured.

Just another random pretty vineyard.

Here is me wishing that our New Year can be filled of new fun and exciting places we can travel to.
And my hot husby thinking about how hot he is. As is sizzlin, sssssssssss!

he is modeling his jeans that he got when he exchanged some slacks that he later exchanged for some other article of clothing. French Connection knew him by name at the end of our trip, and after all the returns, they were probably happy to see him go! what a stud muffin. he also got to earn his new nickname Gus. After Gus Porticallis on My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Watch the show, hang out with my hubs, you will realize that they are brothas from anotha motha. Fo real y'all.

We were driving that is why it is so blurry, but I thought is was terrific that these buildings had Christmas lights on them. Such festive skyscrapers! Such a festive City. They kept their Christmas tree up all New years weekend.

Ahhh, alas, The bridge, as in Golden Gate. it was cute, glad we got pics to say we have been there before, great for scrapbooking, but come on, now, I know that I skipped a lot of days during American history, and I slept through those that I actually showed up to, but I don't get why the Goldy is so popular. If it were up to me, which it definitely should be, I would have to say that the Bay Bridge (which I though was the Golden Gate and was disappointed cause it wasn't red anymore until I realized there is more than one bridge here) should be the popular one. The Bay Bridge is like 3x longer than little goldy, paint it red and there you go, something way cooler. Plus Bay has Christmas lights on it, therefor it is a supreme bridge.

Bill gave me this hat for Christmas, isn't it so cute!

San Fran baby, home of the Rice-O-Roni

The sun did come and visit on our last day there. That was so nice of it! Thanks Mr. sun. now follow us to Utah and melt our snow.

So this is part of the Bay bridge. Isn't it precious.

Why do they need all these things? As in all the metal bars and stuff, I get for support, but is all of it really necessary? Does anyone know about bridge construction? I don't get it.

Now just you wait lil fella, there is more to come, so y'all come back now ya hear.
