Our new home! we have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 floors, a garage, vaulted ceilings, a jetted tub in the master, and we love it!

 He can't figure out if he should be scared of his reflection, or appreciate how cute his reflection is.

Now, if we can just get him to bring the ball back to us!

Another "It's over" post!

 This was my last day as a scrub tech with scrub tech pay! From now on, if I scrub, I will be a nurse with nurse pay! It was a good day.

It's over!

I thought I better make a post and say school is over! I am still trying to figure out if it is all real, but I guess it really is!

Our little group celebrated by having a scrub burning shindig.

 I passed boards and now I am a nurse! I still don't believe it. There are several ways that you can check to see if you have passed and I wouldn't accept them until I saw my name posted on the government website!

I also got 2 full-time job offers. One is in an OR which I took and the other is at a Rehab/nursing home which I will be PRN or part-time for. I still don't believe I have 2 jobs! I know I am blessed, especially during this job market. I am excited to start and see how much I know and how much I need to learn.

 Graduation was boring! They didn't tell us anything about it before hand and the students felt kind of unorganized. Hopefully we were able to fake it until we make it.

 Another exciting thing that happened in the middle of me finding out I passed boards is that Bill's diploma came for his master's. His job needed it as proof and it came 3 months after he was done with school. It was a great weekend!!

 As with any school cliques were formed. But the group I ran around with were the nicest and coolest of them all! I hope we all maintain our friendships for the years to come.

This is my girl. We met in 2nd semester. We helped each other during the good times and bad. I am grateful to know her and have her as a friend. There was a group of 4 of us that leaned on each other, but we didn't get a pic of just the 4 of us for graduation.

 The red, white and blue ropes were for perfect attendance all 5 semesters, the yellow rope is for making the dean's list (a GPA above 3.7). It's funny how we are our own worst critique. All through school I didn't think I was doing good enough, that I wasn't studying hard enough or retaining enough information. I was scared I was going to fail or not pass boards. I felt stupid a lot and afraid almost always. And in the end I did pass boards and I made the dean's list. Which, doesn't really mean anything from this day forward, no job is going to care what my grades and GPA were, but hopefully I will remember this and have more confidence in myself when I go further in my career and education.

 My lovely husby, school was hard and brought some problems, but he stuck by me, let me work minimal hours and always believed in me. I love him with all my heart. Now we are an educated couple!

The fam! My grandpa has always been my number one fan. He knows that whatever I want to do I will accomplish it and he never doubts me for a second. My grandma snuck in some extra prayers for me when I was scared I wouldn't pass my exams. My mom is a proud mama and has spoiled me since I took boards and I have loved every minute of it! My step-mom helped get me the job at the rehab. And my husby has taken me to dinner for the past couple weeks so I didn't have to worry about cooking when I was studying and celebrating! Thanks everyone!

Best Freakin Guacamole

I am in between studying chapters, so this is going ot be quick. We are guacamole lovers. I never even tried the stuff until a couple years ago a friend made me try hers before I left on a Mexican vacay...I have been hooked ever since.
4-5 advocados
1/2 reduced salt canned corn (or a handful of cooked frozen corn, cook the canned corn before adding to guac)
1/4 -1/2 purple onion (chopped)
1/4-1/2 green pepper
1 lime
garlic powder to taste
salt & pepper to taste
cheyenne pepper to taste
For those who like tomatoes & cilantro you can add those, I guess to your tastes

K so here is how it all started, I got a recipe for guac which was just the advocado, garlic powder, lime juice and salt and pepper. That was delish! Then we went to a restraunt and they had corn and onion in theirs. SO, I added corn and onion to mine. Then I had a seven layer dip that had green peppers in it, I thought that would be delish in my quac...then the hubs told me to kick it up with some spice and so the cheyenne pepper was born into it.

Mash the advocado, then dump the rest of the stuff in and mix well.

I like it with extra lean turkey soft tacos. I just use extra lean turkey and cook it with the rest of the chopped green pepper and purple onion. Then I just use any ol' taco season packet. I put salsa and cheese on the tortilla ( if I am really fancy I will whip up a box of spanish rice and put that in the tortilla too, but I don't get fancy often!). Then I top a TON of quac on top b/c it is sooo deliteful!!

Finals week chicken chilli

I have loved chicken chilli but never made it because I figured it would be a hassel to try to cook the chicken, shred it up and then put it in the chilli. I want easy. Well, I found it! So easy that I made it the day before finals so it would last us the next couple days.

Crock pot easy chicken chilli:
1 can white beans (I try to use low sodium for all can foods if available)
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans (I like light red)
1 package frozen corn (totally forgot this at the store so I used 1 can)
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 28 oz can petite diced tomatoes
1 28 oz can tomato sauce
cumin
cayenne pepper
garlic powder
black pepper
1 package taco seasoning
3 breast of chicken

Throw all ingredients into crockpot except for the chicken. The spices I probably used about 1 tsp. on the cumin, black pepper, and cayenne pepper and with the garlic powder I probably used about 2 tsp. (give or take). mix it all up and stick the whole chicken breast on top of the chilli. Set the crock pot 4(high)-8(low) hrs and relax (or study for your finals). When it is time to eat, take the chicken breast out and shred them on a plate (I just use 2 forks to shred), then put the chicken back in the chilli and mix well. Serve hot. Top with fresh grated cheese and tell the hubby to clean the dishes!!

Bill got to drive a Mercedes last weekend, and he felt like a big time playa!

He kept asking me if I want one of these...ummmm no I rather have a house!

Maybe when we are rich and famous :) But it was fun to ride in!

What happens in Vegas...

Bill took me to Vegas for my birthday. We stayed at a hotel by the airport and it was one of the BEST hotels we ever stayed in and that will now be our Vegas retreat. My friend told me to go to Serendipity and get a frozen hot chocolate. I ordered the "to share size" and we definately needed another person or two to share it with. It is huge!

It was my turn to take over!

I wanted ot go to the SUgar Factory since all the celebs go and see what all the fuss was about. It was basically just over priced candy, nothing really special, but I did find me some cute hello Kitty pops, but these suckers were like $20...ummm no thanks, a picture lasts longer!

We did a lot of shopping down there and the weather was perfect! The month of May was a good one for me to do some shoe shopping. I can't wear those cute stripper shoes that have all the glitter on them, but I found me some flats and HAD to have them.

I found a few other shoes too, some needed, some just wanted. Unfortuately, the shoes gods took my very favorite pair of sandals (not pictured, they aren't new). I guess they thought I had enough and needed the others :( I'm so sad, I have no idea where the heck they went.
